Welcome

This section of the NAO red documentation describes the audio software components of your robot.

NAOqi currently contains five audio modules which are interdependent and organized as described in the figure below:

- the ALAudioDevice module, intended to manage audio inputs and outputs.

- the ALAudioPlayer module, which allows to play audio files on NAO.

- the ALTextToSpeech module, which allows the robot to speak.

- the ALSpeechRecognition module, which allows the robot to understand what we say.

- the ALSoundDetection module, which allows to detect sound events.

- the ALAudioSourceLocalization module, which allows to localize sounds detected by the ALSoundDetection module.
