Enslaving your robot

What does "enslaving" mean?

When your NAO is not enslaved, its limbs are soft like a puppet, its motors do not have power. To execute behaviors and see the result on your connected NAO, you have to enslave it, giving power to the motors.

There are 3 different icons color:

Icon Description

enslaved icon

 NAO is not enslaved. NAO will not move during the behavior.

intermediate icon

 Intermediate state. Stiffness of each motor can be customized when executing particular movements.

unenslaved icon

 NAO is enslaved. It is able to execute any move you are working on.
Warning:

Do not try to move its limbs manually as its motors are geared up.

How to enslave NAO?

Click on the enslaved icon icon of the toolbar.

> The icon turns red, your robot is enslaved.
