Abstract:


"A virtual coach that provides cognitive, affective, and social learning 
support has shown to be effective at supporting societal participation 
learning for low literate learners. However, two areas of potential 
improvement have been experimentally identified: the formalization of 
the coach's support model, and meaningful support individualization 
based on temporal contingency. In this colloquium, I will explain the 
formal coach support model created to solve these issues, the experiment 
conducted to test our claims, and the results from this experiment."
