We are looking for two persons from industry (Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg), who are willing to be part of the BNVKI board for the next two years.
The BNVKI was founded in 1981, as the NVKI, by 19 Dutch AI-researchers. In parallel a Belgian AI association was initiated in 1983 in Brussels. In 1998, the Dutch and the Belgian AI Associations merged, and the association was renamed BNVKI-AIABN. In 2008, the association welcomed Luxembourg as the third of the Benelux nations, and renamed itself “BNVKI-AIABN: Benelux Association for Artificial Intelligence”.
The BNVKI is the primary academic AI organization covering all universities and their AI research groups in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. It is the regional representative organization within the European Association for Artificial Intelligence (EurAI). The BNVKI organizes the annual BNAIC and Benelearn conferences, publishes a quarterly newsletter and sponsors several AI-related events in the Benelux.
The role as AI and industry member is to keep the board aware of the dynamics industry, to provide suggestions for the future of the BNVKI and to assist in the recruitment of sponsors for the annual BNAIC/Benelearn events.
Those interested should send an email to board@bnvki.org with a short CV (max 3 pages), a motivation letter explaining the interest for the position and also their affinity to the Benelux academic AI landscape. The selection process is based on this information and a short interview with the BNVKI board.
